An international contemporary furniture brand based in Zarautz, in the Basque Country (Spain). Founded in 1947 by Jesús Aldabaldetreku, the company has remained in the family and is now run by the third generation.

How can we apply our fascination for traditional mechanics and craft tools into state-of-the art design?

This challenge forms the basis of the products of design label Tonone. Tonone is founded in 2013 by Anton de Groof and is based in The Netherlands.

The Tonone design team works together with local craftsman to produce their products. Each step in the process of designing and producing is done with care and an eye for each detail. Tonone stands for bold, functional and no-nonsense products with an industrial character.

The design team’s vision is that traditional craft tools and mechanics can be a visual, as well as a functional basis for innovative product design.
